had to move off of windows (really bad OS) now im in ubuntu, missing the codex app, can we get the linux version guys please? im missing the app too much.

sudo npm install -g @openai/codex works for me - on arch

He’s referring to the app, not the CLI tool (and hence the tag)

no i still dont… there is too much issues ahha but maybe i can give my grain of sand, im using the port right now and it feels really good, but an official app would be nice.

Which port are you using? And which distro?

I’m on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Using the Codex desktop app (Electron port) – version 26.325.31654, installed from the Linux build.

Hello openai team can i get an ETA on when we will get the native linux codex app? it would be really awesome since im not a mac user and i rely on linux a lot since i run containers for my development workflow. thanks guys!
