ChatGPT web, work. gpt-6.1-sol.
“Library” has been re-shaped into “Spaces”.
In performing a documentation creation, I was prompted to give permission for “Spaces” while the AI was working. Only after this permission was given was the AI able to continue, finally providing a file download link at the bottom of the response (not a sandbox link within a response, although the output also had those).
An annoyance to slow down productivity not there previously that does not make sense from a permission standpoint, and then foisted again in a follow-up.
Issue: The final link to a .md does not create a file download, an artifact viewer, or a new target. Instead, a click is a new web destination giving the plaintext, replacing the ChatGPT page.
It seems upon a reload, the link is now working to produce a file download dialog, so reproduction of the fault may be happenstance or depend on the server MIME that is rotated or DDoS protection edge.
Additionally, poor UX: the “download file” icon on the right only appears on pointer hover. Clicking on the remainder of the “download” bar is a sidebar launcher. This is bad discoverability behavior (besides that code downloads that cannot possibly work in the sidebar viewer are still sent there).
Additionally: I just wanted the AI to write text, not be loaded up with skills and tools and apps and plugins despite every offered slider in “customization” being disabled.
Additionally: stalls getting no final output after a file is placed in spaces, while the “working” timer keeps going and I’m offered a “stop” button in the input area, with stream errors in red text, etc.
