ChatGPT Web Interface - Responses are Out of Context and Not Relevant (Works Fine on App)

ChatGPT seems to be having issues with context understanding in web environments, behaving as if it cannot grasp the conversation. For instance, when discussing “internet cookies,” it responds as though referring to edible cookies. This issue didn’t occur previously. It might be related to adjustments made in VS Code while working on HTML files and tweaking the ports, though I’ve reset all the ports. Despite that, the problem persists. I checked OpenAI’s server for issues; while file upload problems were identified, nothing matched this specific case, which prompted me to post here.

This issue began a few hours ago and continues despite refreshing the page.

  • I’ve cleared the browser cache, tried using different browsers and incognito mode, and disabled extensions, but the issue remains unresolved.
  • My internet connection is fine (I’m not using a VPN). This issue only occurs in web environments; the app (mobile) works fine.

I am experiencing the same issue and have also cleared browser cash and restarted my local machine. Wasn’t doing any coding nor using a VPN

Since then, the issue has been intermittent, sometimes fine, but recently, on December 18th (local time), it happened again. I’m completely stuck. I’ve contacted the OpenAI help center, but so far, they haven’t been able to fix it and only give meaningless responses. (I sent them an email with plenty of evidence, but they just say it’s a platform-wide error.) It’s incredibly frustrating.
