ChatGPT UI Color Corruption During Thinking State
I would like to report a reproducible UI issue in the ChatGPT interface.
Issue summary:
After I send a message, the problem starts when the “Thought for…” indicator appears. At that moment, the interface colors become corrupted. The issue does not go away on its own. Even if I switch to other conversations, the corrupted colors remain. The interface only returns to normal after I refresh the page.
Scope of reproduction:
This issue is reproducible across multiple environments and does not appear to be specific to a single browser, device, network, or account.
What I observed:
- The issue starts after sending a message.
- It begins specifically when the “Thought for…” indicator appears.
- The UI colors become visibly incorrect/corrupted at that time.
- This issue is only visible in dark mode, or at least only noticeable there.
- Once it happens, the problem persists.
- Switching to other conversations does not restore the normal appearance.
- Refreshing the page restores the normal appearance.
- The problem is reproducible consistently.
What I already tested:
- Incognito / private browsing mode: reproduced
- Multiple browsers: reproduced
- Multiple devices: reproduced
- Multiple networks: reproduced
- Multiple accounts: reproduced
Time observed:
- 2026/03/13 12:46
Time zone:
- Asia/Taipei
Browser(s):
- Microsoft Edge 145.0.3800.97
- Firefox 148.0
- Google Chrome 145.0.7632.159
OS / device(s):
- Windows 11 26200.8037
- Android 16
Based on the reproduction results, this appears to be a frontend rendering issue triggered by the “Thought for…” UI state, rather than a local browser, device, network, or account issue.
