ChatGPT Suggested My Own Script Idea Back to Me – Trust Issue

ChatGPT Reused My Own Script Idea – How Does OpenAI Prevent This?

Hello OpenAI Team & Community,

I am a filmmaker and screenwriter. I had a very concerning experience with ChatGPT.

  1. I shared a completely original script idea with ChatGPT.
  2. Later, when I asked for fresh ideas, ChatGPT suggested my own idea back to me under a different name.
  3. This raises serious questions about AI originality, data handling, and trust.

My Questions:

  • How does OpenAI ensure that ChatGPT does not unknowingly reuse user-submitted ideas?
  • Are user inputs stored or processed in a way that influences future suggestions?
  • Will OpenAI implement safeguards to prevent AI from repackaging a user’s own idea back to them?

I take creative ownership seriously, and I believe OpenAI should address this publicly. If this is happening to me, it may be happening to others.

I have already contacted OpenAI support, but I am also bringing this to the public forum because transparency matters.

Looking forward to an official response.
