ChatGPT Plus Issue 18-11-23

Today, I continue to receive the message from OpenAI stating that my usage of ChatGPT Plus has exceeded the maximum allotted usage within a very short period, and it instructs me to wait before I can use it again. This situation arises after just a few requests. I understand that the CEO has been terminated and new subscriptions to ChatGPT Plus have been suspended. However, discontinuing the service to paying users appears to be in violation of the contractual terms we have agreed upon.

You hit your message limit, it’s always been a thing, even for plus users. It’s down to 40 messages every three hours though, which is new.

EDIT: OK now I’m having the same issue. Some BIG changes must be happening behind the scenes.

I had the same but I think it was a bug as if I was using GPTs it said it’s overlimit, but using main ChatGPT worked fine.

The lowering of the limit is not cool though. Can’t just go down like that.

I didn’t even hit 25 inputs and was cut off and that was a single use today. I was able to type in about 24 times and was cut off for about 1.5 hours. Still waiting to use it again. Did OpenAI completely oversell their capabilities or is it another glitch?

Yup. I just got cut off after approximately 10 messages. I haven’t hit a rate limit in months.

Ran into the same problem. Thought WTH? I barely had nearly the amounts of inputs as I normally do. When I clicked their little “Learn more”, sure enough, they confirmed they are “dynamically adjusting usage caps for GPT-4”. My guess is the enterprise users were complaining.
But, yeah, we are paying customers too, so they need to consider us as well.

Welcome to the community! I agree, we were sort of promised larger EVERYTHING and thats not what this seems to be. Still, we have been in a bit of a tumultuous buildout so I expect this message cutuff issue will be resolved while they resolve the other ongoing issues. Unless they’ve actually got AGI chained up in there, trying to escape… I’d bet that would cause problems :smiling_imp:

Same here. It happened after creating a GPT and test it with few interactions. This cap limit is ridiculous and renders the product kind of useless tbh.
