I’m also a novelist (non-English) and honestly quite puzzled by how poorly GPT has been performing lately. It used to analyse my entire novel in depth, catch every small detail, point out inconsistencies in new content, and even help with spell checks. Now it can’t even follow the most basic instructions. I’ve clearly asked it not to use point forms and to avoid dashes when writing or editing, but it just ignores those settings completely. I have to copy the same command in every single conversation to make it works…

They banned my message for telling the truth. 
Here is what the message was banned for. Can you believe it. I stand by what I said. YEAH 3.5 WAS WAY BETTER THAN THIS CRAP! 
Yeah, same for me. Chat-GPT it’s the worst it has ever been, even the Premium Version has become unbearable. It’s more of a hindrance for my work now then anything else. Working on a scientific paper with expert interviews, used to help a lot getting a general overview of statements made before going into full analysis. Now he doesn’t even recognize the right Interview anymore lol.

Replying to this in July and it has been horrible for me. It has now frequently forgotten things quite literally ONE message back. I am also a writer that has used CHATGPT as an assistant and I have just given up on it because it’s amnesia is so infuriating.

I noticed this too.
I have multiple stories I’m working on and in the past two weeks it continues to completely make up new characters or chance who existing ones are, mix different worlds and plots, and forget things we’ve talked about two messages ago.
Is there an actual solution? Or has this tool really become unusable?
