I’m a ChatGPT Plus subscriber, and I’ve been experiencing an issue where ChatGPT no longer saves new memories, even though the memory feature is enabled in my settings.
What I’ve Tried So Far:
I confirmed that the memory setting is turned on. I provided OpenAI Support with a video showing that memory is active. I deleted all existing memories and attempted to create new ones. I tested this on both PC and mobile – the issue persists on all devices.
Despite these steps, ChatGPT still does not save any new information. The OpenAI Support team has suggested basic troubleshooting steps, but none have resolved the issue.
My Questions to the Community:
Has anyone else experienced this problem recently?
Could this be a known issue affecting multiple users?
Is there any possible fix or workaround that has worked for others?

I, too, am having major issues with large chunks of content being lost. Not just hidden by GPT behind its “edited” tab (which I did find) but completely vanished and not recoverable. I’m using the Plus version, working on a complex editing and rewrite project of a large document. Even with the Projects option (which I received access to just last week) this problem persists, and even seems worse in the Project chats. You have done some research that I’ve not known to do. I will attempt to take similar steps, to see if that helps. It’s becoming so troublesome and frustrating! Good to know someone else is experiencing similar issues, even if we don’t yet have a solution.
I’ve cleaned up my memories, saving past but important details in a text file and uploading it to the projects so that chats within them still have access. However, many things that matter to me aren’t being saved, while new ones keep getting added.
