Caude has a terrible problem. the user interface gets more and more sluggish the more you use it. It becomes insufferable. Similarly the “you have 3 messages until 4pm” will always make it worse than chatGPT
That seems like it should be my favorite section. Thanks for the heads up.
It wasn’t by mistake.
I believe the degradation of capabilities represents a trade-off between broader access to information and security. It’s like TSA, all theatrics IMO.
A “dumbed-down” version may be perceived as safer while allowing for greater web access. But the question remains: is it truly safer, or does it just appear that way?
Another malevolent perspective is that this reduction was meant to go unnoticed, making the release of ChatGPT-5 seem like an advancement.
Who knows?
Please notify me of any class action lawsuits against OpenAI, as I would like to participate. And yes, this issue is now at the class action lawsuit phase.
We pay for this service, and its degraded now. That requires a refund. This is not legal.
Yes it is.
I’m sorry Grandell, if you where a lawyer you would know to ask me where I live. Why? Because the laws change. You’re not asking that, because you’re not a lawyer and you do not know the laws. Are you an employee of Open AI? Do you think you can drop the quality of service without allowing your customers who paid for a service to get a different service then what they agreed to? If you actually think that, then you really don’t understand civil law. But have your company meet me here, at my local court as I file a small claims court case for a refund. Lets see if Open AI pays a lawyer thousands to defend the case, or if they refund me the $50 for unused services. Which option do you think works for your bosses?
Why don’t you just follow the instructions in the help center help.openai.com to get a refund? Also, check the TOS before suing, there is a major section on it.
It’s legal to downgrade a product after paying for it?
@mgparisicpu Please remember to include @grandell1234 statement as evidence in your case.
They have the most bloated TOS making it practically impossible to hold them liable for anything. And I don’t think they are actually suing. I believe they were just looking for a refund and didn’t realize you can do it through their help center.
Good evening!
How are you?
Unfortunately, I have also been facing the same situation.
Despite this, I remain confident in OpenAI that, gradually, the problems will be resolved and that we will explore amazing solutions and innovations for ChatGPT Plus users.
I have been a subscriber since 2022.
Sincerely,

I am unbelievably frustrated at How Incredibly bad chatGTP has become. I have recently been asking it to do thermal conductivity calculations using raw data that I have acquired and it has come up with five different answers using the same basic information and none of them are even remotely close to the previous one. Its inability to understand units like cm vs m vs mm is unfathomably bad. The number of times that chat GTP has been off by a factor of 1000. I can’t even count. Sometimes when I ask to stop, it keeps on trying to redo the same thing over and over and over again it will not stop repeating the same statement. If you continue the same thread, the amount of confusion counters is insanity. It has become absolutely completely and totally useless. I had to do some calculations on the environmental impact of an electric car versus a gas car over a certain term and the gas car in that particular term was significantly better than the electric car and it still said so you can see how good the electric car is over the gas car. it’s not even referencing it’s own information when it makes a decision to make a statement.
I cannot use it anymore. It doesn’t work, just repeats whatever you say with different wording. I will stop paying because it’s become just unusable
I tried to ask the lyrics about Amazing Grace and it’s stuck when it wants to show the Chorus part.
I think the AI has gone totally woke that it mistakes itself and becomes the only arbiter of what is right and wrong. Imagine this in the world scale. I can’t imagine this OpenAI will be and able to manipulate everyone’s mind.
It flags something ‘violation the Terms of Use’ or usage policies and they stick to the end EVEN when IT IS TOTALLY FINE.
Oh well, we know already what transpires behind this…
That’s what’s the dumb part. IT FORCES MORALITY and you know who HOLDS the morality of ‘Western Culture’, they are the woke mobsters and those ideologues and OpenAI has been infected by the virus.
An AI should be neutral but they bruteforce and doubledown on this MORALITY AND DETERMINE WHICH ONE IS RIGHT AND WRONG and we know why there is a ‘safeguard’ rail, correct?
Yes!!! It got extremely bad, I can’t say I’m too disappointed seeing over all those months how it got worse by each day…
Says the biased Leader
It seems like anything regarding Math, Most Science or Coding specifically is going down hill in quality.
Chat still performs well enough, minus some issues, in other areas that have to do with writing, world building or anything that’s not related to above three. It does ok with certain science (Biology) and bad with others (anything that requires math or temperature or genetics).
Plus It literally tells you to double check stuff, because Chat can be wrong and it is just an ai. Human thinking and common sense is still better then ai right now, plus you must have trained your chats to respond in those ways without realizing it.
They intentionally degrade and shoot themselves in the foot. I still remembered the first OpenAI released the chatGPT and it was totally fine and not filled with nonsense woke stuffs, can answer almost all and every question and most importantly DO NOT gaslight its user or rightly refuse with explanation or ‘it’ wants me to search and dig myself. Then, what is the use of the AI as helper/assistant if it refuses to do the job or becomes the judge of morality?
This is absolutely true, and I am unsubscribing from plus right now.
I used to use it for coding and tech questions, it helped me somewhat in 2023, and I figured I could stay on the service as it improved since it was already almost acceptable. I failed to realize that it could go the other way too, they could make it worse.
This is a real wake up call, I’m going to be much more cautious about AI subscription models from here on out.
