I am experiencing a persistent issue across all conversations with ChatGPT where AI-generated responses are being flagged by your moderation system, despite there being no inappropriate content. This issue occurs on multiple devices (Android 15 on phone and Windows 11 Pro on PC) and in both new and ongoing conversations.
Details of the issue:
Devices Used: Android 15, Windows 11 Pro
Nature of Conversations: General inquiries and casual discussions (e.g., recipes, daily chats)
Issue Description: Many response from ChatGPT, regardless of the content, is flagged. This does not happen on my husbandās account, which functions normally under the same conditions.
This problem is impacting my ability to use the service effectively, as it seems the moderation filter is overly sensitive or malfunctioning specifically with responses generated for my account.
Steps Iāve Tried:
Using different devices and browsers.
Starting new conversations.
Comparing with another account (my husbandās) where this issue does not occur.
I suspect this might be a bug or an overly strict moderation setting applied to my account. Could you please investigate this issue? Any assistance in resolving this matter would be greatly appreciated.
BTW - this is ChatGPT deleting itās OWN responses to my questions and flagging ITSELF as inappropriate. It did it to me this morning, for example. I asked for a banana muffin recipe. It gave me on. Deleted it. And said it had generated an inappropriate reply.
I asked for a Banana Muffin recipe. It generated one. Deleted it. And said itās own recipe was inappropriate.
Additionally, Iāve talked to it about childhood trauma - not even detailed. Just mentioned it. It flagged MY request was inappropriate. For some reason, the moderation filters seem a little high.
I did finally get it to work for the muffins (which were delicious, btw) Itās all sorts of conversations, though - not just this one. Here are some more for funsies.
You can try the usual steps to resolve this strange issue: private mode, different browsers, logging out and back in, maybe even a new account if you are not paying.
iām literally experiencing the same problem, i contacted support and apparently my account was flagged. i tried everything and nothing works, it only works if i use temporary chat or if i use chatgpt as a guest. do i just wait it out?
And this is exactly what ChatGPT recommended and Iāve already attempted. This is consistent between the browser version (brave, Chrome, Edge), Windows app version, and the Android version. Iāve logged in and out - multiple times - and uninstalled and reinstalled the apps. But, yes, Iām a paying customer. In addition to this on my request for muffins, itās also doing it to my business requests - I run a small chicken farm.
So, at this point, Iām pretty frustrated as itās still doing it - and all Iāve gotten from support is crickets. It seems to be doing it with new requests - and with resumed chats.
iām really sorry thatās happening to you, with support i managed to fix it. iām not sure if this works for you, but have you turned off memory and tried it out? i turned off memory, but then i decided to turn it back on and then clicked manage memories. i wanted to see which memories were āflaggingā my account. so, i deleted any memories that was making chatgpt act up. now it works fine. i really hope this solution works
Itās not flagging my account - GPT is flagging itās own replies. My questions, etc are fine. Is that what you were experiencing? If so, how did you identify which memories are triggering GPT to say itās own responses violate?
yes, thatās what i was experiencing. no matter what questions i asked, it kept censoring its own replies after replying to me. i went through my memories and i remembered i used to ask ideas for my characters. one of the ideas was considered a violation, so i guess my account was in some sort of false positive loop. after deleting said memories, it works fine for me. i havenāt had any problems since then
Characters? Hm⦠I use this a lot for DnD character creation. I really hope this isnāt going to be a problem. I may have to find another AI. Guess I should brush up on my skills and get ready to install one on my own server. I really hope itās not babysitting me to this extent.
Another use said that it was some of the āmemoriesā ChatGPT retained that seemed to be causing the flags in their account. Try turning the memory function off and see if it still happens.
yeah, you can also try and delete any memories that could be making chatgpt act strange. or, just delete all memories if youāre unsure which is which. good luck
YES!!! the same was happening to me! and like the other commenter said, by clearing their memory, it fixed the issue for me. i had some tragic/flaggable content in the memory of my account due to character writing as well, and i guess the account was acting as if it was under flag and censoring itself. so weird. but im so happy to report its working great again! before i constantly had to use the āreasoningā feature to even get a reply out of it!!! so annoying. but WE R BACK BABY!
