Okay, I can see it now… and worked.
Hi Eric,
Sure. You can close it.
Out of curiosity, what’s the motivation to close topics? Eg: if someone joins today, they may want to contribute to earlier topics. So what’s the incentive to close topics in this forum?
eg: There’s been more conversation since the solution was posted.
Good question.
One of the main reasons for this is that users sometimes add additional questions to an existing topic , which should actually be started as a new topic . In a new topic, users can still link to the closed topic or even to specific posts within it.
To prevent you from reporting on the ongoing state of what is now non-translation?
Or the increased consumption of rate by use of GPTs?
Yes, it is rather pedantic “mind if I close this so it will not be discovered useful or thanked tomorrow”?
I agree @EricGT that threads should remain on topic, otherwise the forum would become hard to navigate. It’s also really useful to mark a post as the solution, so readers know where to refer.
Can I respectfully suggest that the forum allows topics to remain open unless they go off-topic or become offensive. This forum is going to increase in size and new members will want to discuss prior topics. Having multiple closed threads on the same topic makes it harder to read the historic trail.
Yes, they can refer to closed topics, but it’s nicer to have the evolving conversation centralised. Just sharing my thoughts.
PS: This discussion is now off topic, so should be closed! LOL
