I am looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar ChatGPT Business billing issue or successfully reached a billing specialist.
My workspace had a promotion offering one Business seat free for 48 months. My previous monthly invoice correctly reflected:
-
Two seats: $50
-
Promotional discount: -$25
-
Total before tax: $25
The billing interface later offered the option to switch to annual billing and save 20%. I briefly selected annual billing, but the flow did not clearly warn that doing so would permanently remove the existing promotion.
After support explained that the promotion might not apply to annual billing, I immediately switched back to monthly billing.
The ChatGPT billing interface still shows:
-
the 48-month promotion
-
a $25 monthly discount
-
a $25 monthly plan total before tax
However, the upcoming invoice preview shows the full undiscounted monthly amount.
Support has confirmed in writing that the promotional line may continue to appear in the billing interface even though the upcoming invoice reflects the undiscounted configuration.
I have asked for 4 times that the matter to be escalated to someone with authority to restore the promotional entitlement or apply an equivalent recurring discount but no luck. Responses just have explained standard pricing as if they were generated by AI, even though there is some random female name at the end of the email. So annoying.
Has anyone successfully resolved a similar issue involving:
-
a promotion disappearing after changing billing cadence;
-
the UI continuing to show a discount that is not present in the billing backend;
-
escalation beyond frontline support; or
-
restoration through a replacement discount or account credit?
I am mainly interested in which escalation route or internal team ultimately resolved the issue.
