I run a one-person business and I’d really like to use ChatGPT Business instead of Pro.
The problem is that Business requires a minimum of two seats.
There isn’t a second person in my company. It’s just me, so the second seat would literally sit unused.
I’m not asking for a cheaper plan. I’d actually be fine paying more for a single Business seat than the normal per-user price.
What I want is access to the Business features that make sense for professional use: the business workspace, better control over data, Work and Codex permissions, connectors, admin settings, and so on.
There are a lot of people in this situation. Freelancers, consultants, developers, contractors, small agency owners, single-member companies, and other people who run a real business by themselves.
It seems strange that the only way for us to get a Business workspace is to buy a license for a second person who doesn’t exist.
Why not offer a single-seat Business option?
It could even cost more per seat than the regular Business plan. Call it Business Solo, Business Individual, or whatever makes sense.
I’d happily pay a reasonable premium for it.
I just don’t want to pay for an empty second seat every month.
A one-person business is still a business.
