Hello,
I’m experiencing an authentication/identity issue with ChatGPT Business after migrating my company’s Google identity to Google Workspace.
My situation appears very similar to this previously reported case:
“ChatGPT Business account locked after migrating Google account to Google Workspace”
My sequence of events was:
-
I had an existing ChatGPT Plus account using a Gmail-based Google identity.
-
I upgraded the same account to ChatGPT Business.
-
At approximately the same time, my company activated Google Workspace and moved to our corporate domain.
-
My ChatGPT Business workspace and existing data remain associated with the previous Google identity.
-
My current corporate Google Workspace identity is now different from the identity stored on the existing OpenAI account.
-
I need to preserve the existing Business workspace, chats, Projects, custom GPTs and other data.
This is now affecting my ability to use OpenAI normally across desktop/browser functionality, not just the account settings page.
I have an active support case:
Case #13357656
Support has confirmed that changing the underlying email on the existing self-serve Business account is not currently supported.
They proposed domain verification + SSO, with an attribute mapping that would allow authentication through the new corporate Google Workspace identity while continuing to send the old account email as the email claim to OpenAI.
Before changing the authentication configuration of our production Business workspace, I would appreciate help from someone familiar with the Google Workspace migration/authentication mismatch scenario.
My main concern is avoiding a situation where SSO configuration locks me out of the existing Business workspace.
Has anyone successfully resolved this specific Google Workspace migration issue using SSO attribute mapping?
If OpenAI Support sees this, I would appreciate having Case #13357656 reviewed in the context of the previous Google Workspace migration/authentication mismatch cases.
Thank you.
