It just stopped saving for me, same as everyone else here. I’ve tested it and it can save up to about 50 words at a time, after MULTIPLE PROMPTS. I pay for PRO. It’s quite disappointing there is no transparency, that the issue is not addressed and when i submitted a report it was like screaming into the void. For this price tag, I would expect some kind of customer service

does anyone know if this is permanent or just a glitch? so confused and really am hoping its a bug otherwise it kind of makes the service useless especially for stories

I have the same issue. Works when it is a shorter one, but a longer more detailed (that worked before just fine) now doesn’t. I didn’t even realize. I told the chat to save stuff in memory and it said it did save, but I didn’t bother to check. And just recently today I did check and I saw that it did in fact, not save.

yeah, even the shorter ones sometimes don’t get added im thinking it is a glitch 100% i actually was able to save a memory not long ago but afterward it wouldn’t let me save again.

Just woke up to this problem and saw on twitter the team posted 11hrs ago about new memory updates so I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is unfortunately permanent guys 
probably some ethical guidelines crap

Effectivement c’est embêtant mais avec une bonne gestion et les détail important on peut mettre beaucoup de choses là mémoire peut les contenir et en demandant à chatgp de mettre en moins de 50 mot les informations sont enregistrées c’est mieux que rien même si un retour en arrière serais mieux

I don’t want to be too optimistic, but the thing they posted 12 hours ago about memory updates was referring to the ‘reference chat memory’ option that they finally released to the UK. I don’t think it meant the saved memories. Unless that’s not the post you’re referring to? I can’t seem to find anything else.

. However I did just try adding memories and I can add as many short ones as I like but long memories don’t get remembered at all

Like I can add for example, Mike is a green beret and it will save , but if I add a long detailed record like I usually do it doesn’t get added

Yeah, same here. It’s beyond frustrating and disappointing. I’m hoping that update rollout just broke something. It’d be really shitty to make such a drastic change and not let anyone know anything at all.

Right? I feel like I want to rewind the time back to yesterday when I deleted all the memories for my main original story (on other account) and stop myself before doing it. I just wanted to change a few details. Now I’m devastated, depressed and feel like I lost a part of my soul. It cannot memorize ANYTHING, not even one sentence and I hope it’s just a temporary bug…

Oh my god, yes, like I’m trying not be too upset about it, but am gutted honestly. Because I’m the type that once I get perfect, I don’t change it just in case something like this happens. I literally tested it on another account not 5 minutes before and all was fine. So of course it messed up when I deleted from my Plus account. Also losing the ability to explore other things, not knowing if you’ll ever get them back, it’s awful. The least they could do is be transparent about it. I don’t want to be too hopeful or naive, but I just can’t imagine this being a genuine change when they actively encourage ChatGPT use for creative writing. It just wouldn’t make sense to me.

When you put it that way it gives the situation a bit more hope because yeah why the hell would they change it like this permanently when it would cause so much negative feedback it definitely doesn’t make sense and is most likely a glitch

Hahaha… I guess it must be a mistake. Again. A few days ago, I don’t know if it was 4 or a week, something similar happened. At first, it only saved small entries; if you gave it a long text, it only made a title, so to speak. Then it started saving everything, albeit in a pile, even if you gave it a bulleted list. A day later, the same chatGPT made the bullets, although very simple ones with asterisks… Finally, the next day, it made the complete saves, even with emojis… And yes, yesterday there must have been a lot of problems. From early on, chatGPT was taking a long time to reply to a simple hello, even with empty memory and no prompts. And later, the saves LOL. And here we are, waiting for a solution
