Is anyone else having this problem? It’s been happening consistently for months now and it’s very annoying.
If I tap the screen to interrupt the voice output, it stops talking and appears to be listening for my next prompt. But it never detects the end of me talking and I eventually have to close the voice interface where I see that it didn’t listen to anything I had said.
This happens every single time I use the “tap to interrupt” feature so I either have to listen to the end of every single thing gpt says or else I have to keep closing and reopening the voice interface which really disrupts the flow of the conversation.
Same here, using ChatGPT on mobile device (Samsung Galaxy A52 5G). I notice that, while the voice stops at the point where I interrupt it, when I hit the ‘X’ to close the conversation and look at the text input screen, that the chat has continued uninterrupted to completion (or maybe the full text is always immediately generated, and it is only the ‘reading back’ of the generated text which is interrupted)
That’s not what I’m saying. What the problem is that I’m having is that if I ever try to use the “tap to interrupt” feature, the app freezes and I have to reset it.
Exact same thing has been happening to me for what seems like weeks. But over a week. I like using the app but this is a pain. I stopped using the beta testing app but still no go. Uninstalled and reinstalled cleared catch. Next I’m going to make sure I’m using perhaps Firefox browser. I may be using Chrome I have to check. But it’s a known issue. I think some refund like a free month when it gets fixed is in order.
is there a place where I can learn more about this refund policy? I couldn’t find anything.
This issue makes the app unusable for me and I’m considering canceling the subscription altogether with a refund demand
This is still happening for me whenever I interrupt ChatGPT the white circle turns gray, and can no longer hear me and processes nothing I have to say I then have to close the voice conversation and hit the headphone button again. It used to bug out like this without hitting the interruption, but since I deleted the app and reinstalled, it only does it when I hit the interruption.
Me too - just upgraded to plus and it happens every time I push the “interrupt” button. Chat circle will move some to the sound of my voice, but no bubbles or engagement.
I’m experiencing the same issue. Here are my details:
ChatGPT Version 1.2024.346 (1734386520)
Mac Sequoia 15.2
In Xcode 16.2 option-shift-1
Tap Voice Assistant and ask a question
Interrupt voice assistant
Voice assistant appears to listen but never responds.
It is December 31 2024 and this is still an issue for me… So frustrating! Just as the original poster stated the tapped interrupt feature does not work properly and the AI will no longer respond when you talk to it if you tap it. You have to wait until it finishes everything it’s saying if you want it to respond back to your verbal input. Please FIX THIS! I’m using Android Google pixel but it looks like other people are having the same issue with other types of phones with the mobile app. This issue is occurring during the voice session. Ugh help, open Ai!
100% this is exactly what’s happening to me. It just freezes forever after you do tapped interrupt and it doesn’t ever listen and respond properly like it should
