Previously, when a user selected a ChatGPT App from the “+” button on the left side of the input box, the conversation would invoke that app/tool. After that, during the same session, the selected ChatGPT App would remain available by default in the input box.
This created a very smooth user experience. If the user asked something related to the ChatGPT App, the app would handle it. If the question was unrelated, ChatGPT could answer directly. The user did not need to manually select the app again for every message.
Recently, this behavior seems to have changed. Now, unless the user explicitly selects the ChatGPT App again, it does not stay as the default in the input box. This means the user has to manually click “+” and choose the ChatGPT App every time they want the app to handle a question.
For our use case, this is quite inconvenient. If the user forgets to select the app, the request will not go through the ChatGPT App workflow at all. From a UX perspective, the previous behavior felt much more natural and seamless.
Has anyone else noticed the same change? Is this an intentional product update, a temporary issue, or is there a setting/developer configuration we need to enable to keep the ChatGPT App selected throughout the session?
