I discovered the issue is not present when not using an external display. App window doesn’t handle resizing on an external display.

Hi!
Just delete the following two files in /Users/‘‘your user’’/Library/Preferences
com.openai.chat
com.segment.storage.oai
com.openai.chat.plist
com.segment.storage.oai.plist
Then relaunch the app and should ask again for your credentials and work normally.
Tested on Sonoma.6

Thanks, this worked for me. I assume OAI will tidy this up in the next release.
Thanks a lot. I have encountered the same problem of crashing when the app is lauched. and the method mentioned by Joaquinmunich also works for me.

Running OS 15.0 Beta – the client still crashes on launch, even after removing the two files.

Same problem. Deleting all com.openai.* from preferences solved the issue. Then I saw there was an update.
My app still crashes on every launch. Reinstalled, deleted the Library files, nothing helped. Yes, using an external monitor. Any thoughts?
[Edited] Yeah, tried again deleting the files in Preferences and now it started working. Great!
It appears that this deletion needs to be performed each time I connect to a new external monitor. After deleting, the issue was resolved in the office, but it reoccurred when I connected to a different monitor at home. I repeated the deletion, and the issue was cleared again.
u are not alone. I encounter the same thing as you.
Same happens here; deleting files in ~/Preferences does temporarily fix the issue, but it will return eventually.

same issue for me, i fear. I tried the new features today, but at some point the app crashed, and now crashes on open every time.

update: I upgraded the os, uninstalled chatGPT, then reinstalled it. that seemed to solve the issue, though I no longer can use the new beta tool that allows us to connect to the terminal/vscode/etc…
