what is “Unusual activity has been detected from your device. Try again later.” error? The chatgpt 4.0 freezes for a while and then you get this error. I am not issuing any crazy prompts, just simple English questions/dialog. Can anyone, share any insights?

Keeps happening here for multiple weeks now. It’s like, I’m posting my first message of the day on ChatGPT as paid user and I get rejection right away. OpenAI Support has been just unsupportive…

I found some message in google saying this might be due to a VPN being active, I’m not using a VPN.

Same happening here. And I had an entire section of chat, about 3 hours worth, just disappeared. Gone. All my notes, everything I figured out, references, calculations, links, info, gone. Right after i got that stupid error/warning. All we were talking about was 3d printing and configurations/sizes/measurements for printing threads. It was helping me with that. Comparing two programs, Cura and Orca slicers. Features and what not. Nothing nefarious. Constant bugs with this, I think I’m done paying for it. I’m not on a VPN, and using the same browser I have been since I signed up.

Last night I was suggested a bunch of YouTube videos showing men in Texas using a ton of fully automatic weapons to blow things to smithereens. I have never been a gun owner and I am not in favor of this, but I am aware that we have laws to prevent gun manufacturers from making fully automatic weapons since 1986. I asked chatGPT if it was possible for people to buy and then modify semi automatic weapons and convert them to full auto. I was then asking about the highest caliber weapon it was legal to buy, because in the videos the guys were shooting what looked to me like military weapons. today I tried to use chatGPT and I got this message. it probably flagged me for this reason.

- Sign out of app
- Force quit
- Delete ~/Library/Application Support/ChatGPT/
- Uninstall
- Install
- Sign In
- Now it should work

Same tried everything on iphone its not working everytime i try write something says unusual activity … on browser works, but crashing everytime, btw im using premium gbt plus
I’ve also had this problem, it was on my iPhone app.
Just signing out and back in solved it for me. Haven’t got a clue why it started happening.

Me too I was one of the first people to get it on both my phone I had developer mode on tho but I turned it off uninstalled the app still nothing
I changed the main (reference) language and it solved the problem on my ipad
