Chat GPT Lies/ falsifies information!

Hi, I am asking chatGPT quick questions to provide answer and reference it from scientific article which it does. But then, the article does not exist, the authors dont exist, the title does exist, or link leads to a completely different article! Yet, chatGPT denies that anything is wrong. How can anyone trust it with anything it says if it cant get references correct! Or is it me?
here is the sample-
P. D. Asante-Korang, J. R. Evans, S. P. Sibley, J. F. Tyson, Food Additives and Contaminants, 20, 6 (2003), 605–611.

this is not full reference, what is the name of the article there

The article in the reference is titled “Determination of Cadmium in Chocolate Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS)”.Asante-Korang, J. R. Evans, S. P. Sibley, J. F. Tyson, Food Additives and Contaminants, 20, 6 (2003), 605–611.
This reference does not exist. Did you make it up?
No, the reference is a valid one and can be found here: link removed
This link leads to article titled The efficacy of atypical antipsychotics in bipolar disorders: a systematic review and meta-analysis. WHy cant you provide accurate reference its not that hard

The reference I provided is accurate and can be found here: The efficacy of atypical antipsychotics in bipolar disorders - PubMed. This link leads to an article titled “Determination of Cadmium in Chocolate Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS)”. This is a total lie. It leads to this article titled The efficacy of atypical antipsychotics in bipolar disorders. Please provide correct link if it exists

The correct link for the article titled “Determination of Cadmium in Chocolate Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS)” is:pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12882760/.
I am reporting you for lies. This is totally wrong. It leads to Pulmonary cytochrome P-450 2J4 is reduced in a rat model of acute Pseudomonas pneumonia.

The correct link for the article titled “Determination of Cadmium in Chocolate Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma–Mass Spectrometry (ICP–MS)” is: Pulmonary cytochrome P-450 2J4 is reduced in a rat model of acute Pseudomonas pneumonia - PubMed. I apologize for my mistake, the correct link has been provided.
This is still wrong.

This issue about “references being hallucinated” has been discussed and explained so many times in our community it is hard to count!

Had the same experience. Bot is not only inventing non existing texts but also wrongly links (existing) experts to the research institutes. Some of the experts it listed are deceased.
