Chat completion API speed varying

I am using the chat completions api. I have noticed the speed really reduce in my chat completions while there has been no change in my application code and the internet speed is the same.

Is the API speed varying something that happens usually? Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Edit: The responses have become rapid again, so I am assuming the speed can vary occasionally.

you can check from this unofficial openai status if the speed you are experiencing is the same as shown there.
