Basically the title, I burn through $ 35 cents per message with each prompt via Codex Desktop App. The ‘Usage’ dashboard on platform.openai.com doesn’t show the tokens consumed for some reason. The entire conversation in my current session is around 900 words with only 3 code edits from Codex. My Agents.md file is 60 lines (5.5k characters). Am I doing something wrong? Is this burn rate normal?
Did you click x2 rates on by chance?
It does give 1.5 speed at x2 token burn as an option…
Do you have 5.4 up with max reasoning? That’s spendy too….

‘x2 rates’ as in /fast? Nope, I don’t think I did. Have it on medium reasoning too
