Summary:
When creating a numbered list, the number ‘10’ automatically changes to ‘0’, ‘11’ to ‘1’ and so on in the output.
Device Information:
- Device Type: Mac
- Operating System: macOS 14.6.1
- Browser: Safari 17.6
- Platform: Web-version of ChatGPT
Bug Description:
When I ask ChatGPT to create a list of the top 10 of anything, the number ‘10’ is consistently turned into ‘0’. Initially, the number ‘10’ is displayed correctly, but it quickly changes to ‘0’. Additionally, numbers from ‘11’ to ‘19’ are incorrectly formatted as ‘1’ through ‘9’. This issue occurs when using the web version of ChatGPT on Safari. Even when ChatGPT manually writes out the numbers without relying on automatic list formatting, the error persists.
Reproduction Steps:
- Open Safari on a Mac with macOS 14.6.1.
- Navigate to chatgpt web-version
- Ask ChatGPT to generate a numbered list of something with at least 10 items.
- Observe how the number ‘10’ is initially displayed correctly but then changes to ‘0’. Numbers ‘11’ to ‘19’ are displayed as ‘1’ to ‘9’. The number ‘20’ is displayed correctly.
Expected Behavior:
The numbers in the list should remain accurate, with ‘10’ displayed as ‘10’, ‘11’ as ‘11’, and so on.
Observed Behavior:
The number ‘10’ changed to ‘0’, and numbers from ‘11’ to ‘19’ were displayed as ‘1’ to ‘9’. The number ‘20’ was displayed correctly.
Additional Notes:
The error persists even when ChatGPT manually writes out the numbers without relying on automatic list formatting.
