Bug Report for ChatGPT iOS App – Voice Input Not Working on iOS 18.4 Public Beta

Device: iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.4 Public Beta

App Version: Latest ChatGPT app version from App Store

Issue: Microphone input not detected by the app

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the ChatGPT app

  2. Tap the microphone button to use voice dictation or initiate a conversation using the Voice Mode feature

  3. Speak into the microphone

Expected Behavior:

ChatGPT should detect and process voice input via the microphone

Actual Behavior:

The app does not receive any audio input. When using the voice dictation feature, it displays the message:

“Sorry, ChatGPT didn’t quite catch that.”

Voice Mode also does not capture or respond to speech

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

• Verified microphone permissions are enabled in iOS settings

• Confirmed microphone works in other apps (e.g., Voice Memos, Siri)

• Uninstalled and reinstalled the ChatGPT app

• Logged out and logged back in

• Tried both Wi-Fi and mobile network connections

• Not using a VPN

Additional Notes:

This issue is specific to the ChatGPT app on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.4 Public Beta. Microphone works perfectly in all other apps
