Bug Report for ChatGPT iOS App – Voice Input Not Working on iOS 18.4 Public Beta
Device: iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.4 Public Beta
App Version: Latest ChatGPT app version from App Store
Issue: Microphone input not detected by the app
Steps to Reproduce:

Open the ChatGPT app

Tap the microphone button to use voice dictation or initiate a conversation using the Voice Mode feature

Speak into the microphone
Expected Behavior:
ChatGPT should detect and process voice input via the microphone
Actual Behavior:
The app does not receive any audio input. When using the voice dictation feature, it displays the message:
“Sorry, ChatGPT didn’t quite catch that.”
Voice Mode also does not capture or respond to speech
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
• Verified microphone permissions are enabled in iOS settings
• Confirmed microphone works in other apps (e.g., Voice Memos, Siri)
• Uninstalled and reinstalled the ChatGPT app
• Logged out and logged back in
• Tried both Wi-Fi and mobile network connections
• Not using a VPN
Additional Notes:
This issue is specific to the ChatGPT app on iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.4 Public Beta. Microphone works perfectly in all other apps
