Bring native ChatGPT Skills to Plus and Pro

Hi OpenAI team,

I’d love to see the existing native Skills experience become available to individual Plus and Pro users as well.

The part that feels especially valuable is not just having a manual “skill picker,” but the full reusable workflow:

- create custom Skills

- upload/import Skills

- use them in ordinary chats and Project chats

- let ChatGPT automatically discover and invoke relevant Skills when they are useful

- still allow explicit/manual invocation when the user wants to force a specific Skill

This would be very useful for individual power users who rely on ChatGPT for long-running research, writing, coding, learning, personal projects, and other recurring workflows. It would let people build reusable expertise without repeatedly pasting the same instructions or turning every Project into a large block of permanent custom instructions.

Since native Skills already exist in other ChatGPT workspace tiers, extending the same core capability to individual paid plans would make reusable workflows much more accessible while keeping the interaction natural.

For me, automatic skill discovery/invocation is the most important part: the user should not have to act as the router every time. Manual selection is useful as an override, but ideally ChatGPT can recognize when an installed Skill is relevant and load it on demand.

Thanks for considering it — I think this could be a small feature expansion with a surprisingly large benefit for Plus and Pro users.

I’m experiencing a related issue on a Plus account, but with an important difference: my personal Skills were previously available and working in regular Chat, and since September 18 they have stopped being exposed to the regular Chat runtime and the @ selector.
The same five Skills are still installed and continue to work in Work. I also tested a newly created Skill after the issue began, and it showed the same behavior: available in Work, unavailable in regular Chat.
OpenAI Support has documented the issue and confirmed that it is no longer being treated as a basic installation, indexing, or republishing problem, but there is still no Engineering/Product acknowledgement, bug ID, identified cause, or fix.
So in my case this does not look like a simple “Plus never had access” situation, because the functionality previously worked on the same account and then disappeared from regular Chat without any change to the Skills themselves.
