Steps to reproduce:

  1. Connect Bluetooth headphones to Android phone
  2. Start voice mode conversation
  3. Talk for a bit - notice it works
  4. Click the red x
  5. Try voice mode again
  6. No audio output. The app makes visual indicators for when you talk and visually indicates it’s reading out audio, but the Bluetooth headphones play no sound

Expected result:

  • Audio is not muted

Some workaround notes:

  • Disconnecting and reconnecting my headphones sometimes fixes it
  • Closing and opening the app usually does not fix it
  • The most reliable way to work around it is close the app, disconnect headphones, reconnect headphones, open app. But usually it will be muted if I start a second conversation.

System:
Pixel 5, android version 14, Bose QuietComfort II Bluetooth headphones

Did you happen to fix this problem? I am currently having issues getting the conversation to connect with my headphones as well.

Yup same here with tesla bt. Maybe they don’t want us having full on conversations with it which is more likely to happen on Bluetooth?

I have similar problem on Windows, but only with bluetooth device. Chat cooperates with traditional speakers without problem.
