Feature request: Make ChatGPT reliably aware of the current date, local time, and user time zone during conversations.
For ongoing logs—such as diet, exercise, medication, symptom, expense, and work records—ChatGPT should automatically associate each entry with the current local date and time unless the user specifies otherwise. It should also distinguish clearly between the message timestamp, the date an event occurred, and dates inferred from words such as “today,” “yesterday,” and “last night.”
Ideally, users could enable a setting such as:
“Use my local date and time when interpreting and organizing entries.”
ChatGPT should then confirm the assigned date when recording an entry and flag ambiguity rather than silently assigning the wrong date. This would make longitudinal logging much more reliable across devices and separate chat sessions.
