I am able to enable dev mode by going to Apps→Advanced settings as recommended by various documentation.
However my developers cannot even see this option; something that the guides neglect to mention.
Further information: they are all “member” users of an organisation that is on the “Business Plan”. When they navigate to settings→Apps as instructed, there is no advanced settings option (to enable dev mode) but only the option to add apps like a regular user. Screenshot from one of my devs:
What would be causing this?
Edit: it’s because only owners/admins can create or manage apps as specified here: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-developer-mode-and-mcp-apps-in-chatgpt-beta (I’d missed this, my bad).
However I am going to leave this thread up as the caveat is not mentioned in primary documentation here: ChatGPT Developer mode. We should not have to scrape around the web for “beta” notes/documentation if you consider your product productionisable.
Is it still true that only owners/admins can manage apps? Is it still true that we would need to move from Business→Enterprise in order to set up roles to allow general members to manage apps?
