I’m using ChatGPT Plus on the web and have connected and signed in to the Apple Music plugin.
The plugin details page advertises the following write actions:
- Add to Your Apple Music Favorites
- Add to Your Apple Music Library
- Create an Apple Music Playlist
- Sign In to Apple
However, after explicitly attaching @Apple Music to the conversation and requesting a playlist test, the plugin calls failed with:
MCP error: -32001: Unknown tool ({“name”:“apple_music.search”})
and:
MCP error: -32001: Unknown tool ({“name”:“apple_music.get-track-details-batch”})
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the Apple Music plugin details page and verify that the write actions are listed.
- Complete “Sign In to Apple.”
- Start or refresh a ChatGPT conversation.
- Explicitly attach @Apple Music.
- Ask ChatGPT to create an Apple Music playlist from two valid song IDs.
- The connector returns “Unknown tool.”
Expected behavior:
The tools declared on the plugin details page should be discoverable and callable after Apple authentication, particularly “Create an Apple Music Playlist.”
Actual behavior:
The plugin advertises write capabilities, but its MCP backend does not recognize even the Apple Music search and track-detail tools.

This appears to be a plugin manifest/tool-registry or deployment-version mismatch rather than an Apple authorization failure. Please route this report to the ChatGPT plugins/connectors team.
I can provide the conversation URL and screenshot showing the advertised write actions.
