Allow project selection from Cmd+K in existing discussions

Title

Allow project selection from Cmd+K in existing discussions

Suggestion

Currently, the project selector in the Cmd+K menu seems to work only when a discussion is new or empty. Once I’m inside an existing discussion, I can’t use the same menu to select or switch the project context.

It would be much more useful if project selection via Cmd+K also worked while I’m in an active discussion. That would make context switching faster and more consistent, without forcing me to start a new thread just to change the project.

Why this would help

  • Keeps the Cmd+K workflow consistent in both new and ongoing discussions
  • Reduces friction when switching project context mid-conversation
  • Avoids unnecessary new/empty discussions just to access project selection

Suggested behavior

When Cmd+K is opened inside any discussion, the project selector should still be available and allow changing the project for that discussion, or at least let me switch context without requiring a new thread.

If you want, I can also turn this into a shorter, more forum-native version.

Hey @Arbeitnehmer! This makes a lot of sense. Being able to use Cmd+K to select or switch project context from inside an existing discussion would make the workflow feel a lot more consistent, and it’d cut down on the friction of having to start a new thread just to change projects.

Appreciate you taking the time to spell it out so clearly. I don’t have a timeline to share, but this is really helpful context on what would make things smoother, and I’ll pass it along internally.
