My Ali does not work even though I subscribed for $5. How does the API work? How is it renewed or how much is its value?

“Does not work” is a very broad description.

You can try out the API https://platform.openai.com/playground and see that you get responses without error.

If you have just paid with a card, and still get some “check your account” error, some have reported that a business address added to your account may resolve this.

Then you can generate an API key and begin with programming.

Do NOT put your API key into other’s apps or sites. Keep it as secure as your bank password.

In my case, I just had to wait about 10 minutes after making the payment and everything started working. It seems the payment system needs a moment to synchronize with the API.
