Modular AI Architecture Inspired by Nature
A humble contribution from a developer.
Dear OpenAI Team,
First of all, I would like to congratulate you on your extraordinary achievement — not only for its technological brilliance but also for its importance to human history. As an intermediate-level software developer, I may not be as brilliant as your team, but I have deep respect for your vision and the future you’re helping build.
I’d like to share an idea that I believe could contribute something valuable, especially in the context of your recent investments in processor architectures.
Currently, it seems the approach is to create a single super AI that handles all professions, skills, and fields. But even in nature, such a system does not exist. Nature itself is modular and distributed — a harmony of specialized systems working together toward one goal.
So here’s my suggestion:
Instead of centralizing intelligence into one mega-model, divide it into specialized units and synchronize their collaboration.
Think of it like a corporate structure:
- Profession-specific expert AIs.
- A “Manager AI” for each group.
- Above that, a “Director AI” with broader understanding.
- And finally, a “CEO AI” — possessing general knowledge across all domains to synthesize the final output.
This structure:
- Reduces computational demand.
- Improves accuracy by leveraging domain-specific expertise.
- Allows efficient scalability through parallel processing.
- Mirrors the principles of nature.
- And perhaps most importantly, it removes the need for building an ultra-powerful processor — by doing this, you may unintentionally invent the perfect processing structure using existing capabilities.
Instead of pushing a question to one large model, it is split across the network — handled by the right agents in a collaborative effort. Think of it like this:
A heavy load cannot be carried by one person, but for 100 people, it’s no burden at all.
Maybe you’ve already thought of this — perhaps you’re already building it. I don’t intend to sound presumptuous. I don’t know your internal roadmap. I just humbly wanted to share this idea, hoping it might benefit your amazing journey.
It would be a dream to work with your team one day. I’m currently waiting for the U.S. Green Card lottery results, and also trying to migrate to Germany.
But if you asked me, “What is your main goal?” — I’d say:
If my lifetime allows, it would be an honor to contribute to your incredible project.
You are truly valuable to me. I offer you my highest respect and gratitude.
Note: I’m sharing this as a conceptual architectural idea, not a code-level implementation proposal. My intention is to offer a broader vision that could potentially inspire future system design decisions. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Tarkan Askar
