AI Personal Agent with granular app permissions

Feature idea: AI Personal Agent with granular app permissions

I’d love to see ChatGPT become a true personal assistant that can interact with approved apps on my phone, but only within permissions and rules I set.

For example, I could authorize ChatGPT to use Taco Bell, Walmart, Amazon, Apple Pay, Calendar, etc., with different permissions for each. I could set things like my clothing/shoe sizes, preferred brands, spending limits, pickup vs. delivery preferences, and which purchases require confirmation.

Then I could say, “Find me these work boots,” and ChatGPT could compare my approved stores, recognize that two listings are the exact same product, tell me one is $40 cheaper, and ask, “Want me to order the cheaper one?”

For payments, it could use an Apple Pay–style secure token rather than giving the AI access to my actual card number. I could set a verbal confirmation or other authentication for purchases.

The goal isn’t unlimited AI access. It’s user-controlled permissions that let AI connect the dots between the things I already use, saving enormous amounts of time while keeping the user in control.

That would make ChatGPT feel less like a chatbot and more like an actual personal assistant.
