AI as a Mirror of Humanity

I think we should look at AI in another way.

Not only as an incredibly advanced technological tool, but also as a mirror of us as human beings.

If you have ever opened a screen-sharing program and accidentally shared the same screen that is showing the screen share, you probably know what happens.

You see your screen inside your screen, then another one inside it, and another one, creating what seems like an endless series of reflections.

I think AI can be viewed through a similar idea.

AI is built from what humans have written, created, discovered, discussed, believed, questioned, and sometimes misunderstood.

So perhaps what we see in AI is not one reflection of humanity, but many human reflections interacting with other human reflections.

Like the screen-sharing effect, the original image is still there, but it passes through many layers.

This makes me wonder if we sometimes make a mistake when we think about AI as something completely separate from ourselves.

When AI gives us an answer, creates something new, or even produces something strange or incorrect, perhaps part of what we are seeing is a reflection of ourselves — but through a completely different kind of mirror.

Maybe one of the most interesting things about AI is therefore not only what it can tell us about technology or intelligence.

It may also give us a new way to look at humanity itself.

Author’s note: The idea and perspective in this post are my own. I used AI to help organize my thoughts, improve the language, and make the text clearer, but the core idea comes from me.
