Add Optional Text Colors for Reading, Editing, Highlighting Changes, and Errors

Body

I would like ChatGPT to support optional font colors and text highlighting inside conversations, especially when reviewing or editing material.

Right now, when ChatGPT corrects or rewrites something, it can sometimes be difficult to see exactly what changed. Different colors could make revisions immediately visible without requiring the user to compare two large blocks of text manually.

For example, ChatGPT could optionally use:

  • Red for errors, deleted material, or text that needs attention
  • Green for corrections or newly added text
  • Yellow highlighting for passages the user should review
  • Blue for suggestions, explanations, or optional alternatives
  • A separate color for material that has been moved or substantially rewritten

There could also be a “Show Changes” mode similar to Track Changes in a word processor. ChatGPT could display the original text and visually mark every correction, addition, deletion, or replacement.

This would be particularly useful for proofreading, transcripts, articles, emails, code documentation, research material, and large documents where only a few sections were changed.

Text color could also improve ordinary reading. Users could choose colors for headings, quotations, warnings, key facts, instructions, or different speakers. People with visual or reading difficulties could select combinations that are easier for them to distinguish.

The feature should be completely optional. Users could choose a simple preset such as Editing, Proofreading, or Reading, or customize which colors represent different kinds of information.

It would also be helpful if the colors remained visible when text is copied into supported editors or exported into documents.

The goal is simple: when ChatGPT changes something, the user should be able to see exactly what changed at a glance.
