Can we please have a simple keyboard shortcut, like e.g. ctrl+enter , to make the web interface of chatgpt stop (abort) generating the current response?
Right now interrupting the generation involves the user taking the hand off of the keyboard, grabbing a mouse and clicking on the stop button, and then moving the hand back to the keyboard. This is far from convenient.
Having such a keyboard shortcut would
allow users to interface with the web interface more easily,
and, in turn,
would reduce load on your API and reduce your infra costs (users would be more likely to interrupt a long running answer which they already know they don’t need)
Can we finally have this reintegrated? It is quite annoying when I can’t copy a specific part of already generated code while it is still typing, or can’t ask another question.
Kindy requesting an update from OpenAI to reintroduce a “stop generating” keyboard shortucut, regardless of what focus I have on the page.
If I press Esc or some other key or combination, just stop generating so I can retype another query.
Also eagerly awaiting this feature! It would make interactions much smoother and save time when we want to quickly stop a response. Hope the team considers implementing it soon
