Add external storage capability to ChatGPT through either documents or my PC's storage

To preface this, I am a casual user of ChatGPT. I know nothing of its inner workings, nor do I have any technical knowledge in the subject of AI development of any kind. This is the suggestion of a layman.

I find the memory function of ChatGPT to be useful, yet somehow limited. I’m trying to work on a worldbuilding project, yet at some point its memory becomes too full and it can’t commit any more details to stored memory. It doesn’t even tell me “memory is full, cannot add to memory banks, try clearing out unnecessary memory.”

My suggestion is, why don’t we allow it to draw from external sources? Give it a Google Docs sheet it can write memories down on, or give it a chunk of Google Drive storage, or even let it add a folder to your PC that can store memory. If there’s the worry of it taking too much, set a movable limiter on how much it’s able to store, and have it give notice when its memory is full.

Of course, this is a suggestion coming from a layman who knows nothing of how this whole thing works, but I thought this might be an interesting workaround to add more memory.
