Add a Feature to Create Shortcuts for Specific Chats in the ChatGPT App

Dear OpenAI Team,

I truly appreciate the continuous improvements in ChatGPT, making it more efficient and user-friendly. However, I would like to suggest a feature that could enhance the user experience further.

Currently, the ChatGPT app does not provide an option to create shortcuts for individual chats on the home screen. Many users, including myself, often have ongoing or important conversations that we need quick access to. Instead of searching through chat history, it would be great if we could:

  1. Pin Specific Chats within the app for easy access.

  2. Create a Home Screen Shortcut for any chat, similar to how we can save a webpage shortcut from Chrome.

  3. Have a ‘Favourites’ Section where users can mark important conversations.

This would greatly improve productivity and allow users to continue their most relevant conversations without delays. I believe this feature aligns with OpenAI’s vision of making AI interactions seamless and efficient.

I appreciate your time and consideration and hope this feature can be included in future updates.

In reference to your other post (Add an Option to Resume the Last Chat or Start a New One Upon App Restart) I’d like to give you a bit of usage advice:

Typically, chats degrade if they become too long. The quality is generally a lot better (depending on what you’re doing, of course) if you keep your chats short and sweet. So for now, it’s very possible that OpenAI would want to inhibit that sort of usage.

That said, you can still accomplish some of these things on your browser, most easily with bookmarks. You can organize those as you like.

Is there a specific reason why you’re using the app over your browser? Or are you talking about the mobile app?
