Add a Built-In Emoji Picker to the ChatGPT Message Composer

I’d love to see a built-in emoji picker directly inside the ChatGPT message composer, similar to WhatsApp, Messenger, Discord, or other chat platforms.

Especially on desktop, inserting emojis is currently less convenient than it is on mobile. A small emoji button next to the message input would make casual, expressive, and conversational use of ChatGPT much smoother.

Useful options could include:

  • Recently used emojis
  • Favorite emojis
  • Emoji search
  • Skin tone selection
  • Quick access to frequently used reactions

This would be especially helpful for users who use ChatGPT as an ongoing conversational workspace, not only for short factual questions.

It would make the desktop experience feel much more natural and expressive.

Thank you for considering it!

Hi @elenamonari, welcome to the community, and thanks for sharing this feature request.

A built-in emoji picker could make it easier to add emojis to ChatGPT conversations, especially on desktop.

We’ll share your feedback internally for consideration. While we can’t provide implementation timelines or ongoing status updates, your input helps us continuously improve our offerings.
