Account Suspension Appeal — Incorrectly Deactivated on June 6

Banned: June 5, 17:53 UTC

I’ve been appealing through email for days with no response and my account
still hasn’t been restored.

This looks exactly like the June 5 system glitch that hit a bunch of other
users. A lot of them already got the “we incorrectly deactivated your account”
email and their accounts back. I got banned in the same window but nothing
has moved for mine — no reply, no unban.

For context: I’m a CS student focused on deep learning and computer vision.
I use ChatGPT heavily for studying and research. All my chat history,
conversation threads with code debugging, paper discussions, experiment
notes — a lot of important stuff is locked in there right now. Losing access
is a real setback for my work.

I’ve never done anything that should trigger a ban. No automation, no API
misuse, no policy-violating content, no account sharing, no shady payment.
Just normal personal use as a student.

I’m not asking for special treatment — I’m asking for the same manual review
that already cleared the other false positives on June 5. If a human looks at
my account activity, it’ll be obvious there’s no violation.

I’ve read the Usage Policies and I’m confident I haven’t broken any of them.

Thank you.

Hi, here are my account details and references for your review:
Registered Email: [redacted]
Ticket Reference: C-hjTGB9mVlzPB
Case Number: 09711318

Just to provide some context, I subscribed to the service via my Apple account. I am a student researching Computer Vision (CV), currently in a joint training program at the Houston International Institute. My academic work heavily relies on Codex for data analysis, coding, and drafting papers.

I want to clarify that I have never shared my account or abused the system. If there are IP address changes on my record, it is simply because I frequently switch between my lab network and my personal computer’s network, but I only ever log in from a few specific personal devices.

Currently, being unable to access my chat history has made my paper writing quite difficult. These records contain the writing outlines I discussed with the AI, as well as its analysis of my research data. Not being able to review this information has significantly slowed down my progress. If you need any proof of my academic usage (such as my research drafts), I would be more than happy to provide it.

I would really appreciate a manual review to get my account reinstated as soon as possible. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing the support ticket number.

I've sent you a message through the support case and will continue working with you there.

To avoid duplicate communication, all further updates will take place through the support ticket. I'll go ahead and mark this community thread as resolved.
