I am experiencing a persistent issue where my account is stuck in “Temporary Mode” when accessing ChatGPT through any browser on my Mac. This problem does not occur on my iPhone, where the app works perfectly and loads my chat history.
To try and resolve the issue, I have already taken the following steps:
- Cleared cookies, cache, and DNS in Safari and Firefox
- Tried multiple browsers
- Created and tested a new Mac user profile
- Connected through different networks (including a mobile hotspot)
- Reviewed and cleaned my Keychain and certificate trust store
- Booted into Safe Mode and tested there
- Reinstalled macOS (Sequoia) over my system without erasing data
Despite all of this, I am still only able to access ChatGPT in “Temporary Mode” on this machine.
Given the extent of the troubleshooting I’ve completed, I now believe this issue may be tied to an account session flag or server-side configuration specific to how my account is interacting with the browser version of ChatGPT on macOS.
Can someone help me solve this issue or can OpenAI reset the session and authentication configuration on your end?
