Subject: Feature Request: Access to Conversations Within the Same Account
Dear OpenAI Team,
I appreciate the incredible capabilities of ChatGPT, but I’ve noticed a significant limitation that affects usability. Currently, even within the same account, ChatGPT cannot access data from different conversation threads. This creates inefficiencies, especially for users who engage in long-term, structured discussions.
Here’s why this feature is crucial:
-
Continuity & Efficiency: Users often build upon past interactions. Without cross-conversation memory, we have to repeatedly provide the same context, wasting time and effort.
-
Enhanced Collaboration: Many use ChatGPT for strategic planning, research, and iterative problem-solving. The inability to retrieve relevant past discussions disrupts workflows.
-
Better User Experience: Allowing users to retrieve information from their own conversations would make ChatGPT feel more like a true assistant rather than isolated chat sessions.
Humble request:
Enable an “Access Past Conversations” option where users can pull in previous context.
Implement a search function to reference past discussions.
Allow users to “link” related conversations for continuity.
This small change could dramatically enhance productivity and user experience. I’d love to see this implemented in future updates.
Your consideration shall be much appreciated.
Best regards,
