Ability to Share Chat History with Account Verification

Hi OpenAI Team,

I’d like to request a feature that allows users to share ChatGPT conversations with proof of account ownership. Currently, there is no built-in way to verify that a chat originates from a specific account. This can be important for:

Academic or professional use – Verifying that insights or research generated by ChatGPT came from a user’s session.

Content creation and authorship – Proving ownership of AI-assisted writing.

Support and troubleshooting – Showing conversations for customer support without doubt about authenticity.

A few possible implementations could include:

  1. Export with metadata – An option to export conversations with a unique ID, timestamp, and account identifier.

  2. Verification link – A shareable link that confirms the chat was generated from a specific account.

  3. Watermarking in transcripts – Adding a non-removable account ID or session identifier in shared chats.
