A false page pretending to be sora (scam!)

Hey, were you able to figure out if a clean installation of Windows cleaned the virus? I got it yesterday and my facebook is not locked too

clean install seemed to get rid of it yes , and change all passwords multiple times using another devices seems to have done it ,i never managed to access any of my facebook pages again, lost my profile and 4 other connected pages

There continue to be adverts about fake Sora appearing on Facebook, now appearing to hijack the pages of legitimate companies like hotels and internet marketing services. I was almost caught out by the fake Sora page, but luckily my virus protection prevented the install, detecting a Trojan. I don’t know what can be done about those fake pages except arm ourselves against them with careful knowledge and critical thinking.

so it took me to dodgy link opensoralabs dot com. please take this post down, It should not be on Facebook

Lucky I run a mac.

I fell for this scam.

  1. The site name was sora-ai-video dot com. It was a clone of the Sora website and I was in a rush.
  2. They’re invoicing me every month despite cancelling my Amex and putting a block on their account.
  3. They’ve just sent an email that they’ve moved to ai-video-generator dot org after a hacker attack which I’m sure is BS.
  4. I reported this also to Open AI and received no response.
  5. I’m still getting charged.
  6. Can anyone help!!!

: (

We have been trying to raise awareness about this, there are now multiple pages that mimic both OpenAI and Invideo. They are using Facebook ads to circulate the malware and are spending a lot on ads. OpenAI and Facebook have been informed by us. Facebook are refusing to stop the ads and remove the pages.

Here’s the fake website. Maybe shouldn’t of posted it. But it may help someone.

In case of a virus infection, you should do the following:

  • Never turn the system on again from a infected installation before all important data has been saved, and if possible an image has been created of all the hard drives in the system. Every second the system is turned on, and the virus is loaded, it can cause damage or collect data.
  • If it is ransomware, they encrypt the hard drive to extort money. Then the files will no longer be readable. But I think the criminals are more likely targeting larger sums. Many people report receiving invoices for several thousand from OpenAI.
  • Disconnect the system from the internet and keep it disconnected.
  • Then use a bootable DVD with an operating system to start the system independently of the running one. There are Linux distributions for this purpose. If you have never worked with Linux before, it may be tedious, but it allows you to rescue your data.
  • (There is a very small chance of a boot loader virus, but they are rare, they nest in the boot chip.)
  • Copy all important files to an external hard drive. If the boot DVD contains imaging software, you can create an image of the hard drives.
  • If you can afford it and someone is nearby, you can give the system to an expert who will scan it for viruses, provided you trust them.
  • Depending on how important the data on a system is and how thorough you are, it is recommended to format and reinstall the entire system after data recovery, depending on how efficiently a virus could embed itself in the system.
  • Change all passwords, ALL of them, fast, inform your banks.

All other more deeper techniques are complex.

found another of such:
https://download-sora.com is clearly a scam
It was also an ad on facebook, which I reported.
