429 error and changes to API payments system

I found some related discussions on this topic but became none the wiser,

Something changed to the API, I had to verify my phone number which said it was already attached to another account, but I am only using one account, it said that because of that it would prevent me from using the API.

I also had some messages about my payment system, and now you can buy credits, while my info is still attached to the service for charging. (I added some credits this did not solve the issue)

I don’t know what is happening, because I could use the API before, never really got charged, because I used it sporadically.

I am maxing out all ChatGPT functionality so I want to and automate my workflow by mastering the API, which right now seems to be lacking/unable to do so.

when using Chatbot (program) I get this message:

An error has occurred with OpenAI API, which is usually caused by incorrect settings or account issues. Please check your AI settings and account status, or click here to view the FAQ document.

API Error: Status Code 429, { “error”: { “message”: “You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.”, “type”: “insufficient_quota”, “param”: null, “code”: “insufficient_quota” } }

As always, things resolve themselves as soon as you acknowledge them, I switched models and it started working, i don’t know whether or not I had to wait a bit or that some of the models don’t work for me, but it is working now after picking some other models. (I tried already before, but not 3.5 or the preview model which is when it started working)
