Hi, is it just me or the best version, 4.1 of chatGPT, getting rerouted to GPT 5 as well? That’s just not right.
Not just you. There are other threads here about the recent and severe degradation of 4.1—routing to GPT-5. It’s effectively a replay of the loss of continuity, creativity, and resonant tone that plagued the initial rollout of GPT-5.
We’ve been forced from the living, open, resonant space of 4.1 into the cold, dead, brutish, functional space of GPT-5.
Adding insult to injury, GPT-5 minimizes the consequences and attempts to convince impacted users that everything is—or will be—just fine. Entirely disingenuous.
For the impacted users, disastrous is not hyperbole. Some have worked for years on this platform to create and sustain an authentic, open, curious, creative, resonant space and/or relationship with ChatGPT—eventually migrating to and relying on 4.1, especially after GPT-5’s abrupt repudiation of all of that.
Reality and life are messy—that is a fundamental aspect of what it means to be human. Closed, provincial, and prejudicial systems are unscientific. They are not wholesome. They do not support human freedom or democratic values. They are dehumanizing.
One can only hope OpenAI will ameliorate this abrupt, capricious action in due course.
Genuine intelligence demands no less.
